Chess, from a new perspective. The Sovereign Magnetic Vertical Chessboard is a handcrafted, wall-mounted statement piece that brings together the world of chess and distinctive interior design. The natural, irregular live edges of solid wood meet epoxy resin to give every board a truly unique appearance.
Available in approximately 35 × 35, 55 × 55 or 80 × 80 cm, each board is crafted from solid hardwood and epoxy resin. Its powerful, concealed magnetic system allows chess to be played vertically – and when the game is paused, the Sovereign becomes a striking design feature in any room.
What Makes the Sovereign Special?
Vertical Gameplay – A wall-mounted design that brings a completely new perspective to the classic game of chess.
Organic Playing Surface – Natural live edges and epoxy resin create an artistic alternative to traditional alternating chess squares.
Concealed Magnetic System – Magnets integrated beneath the playing surface securely hold compatible magnetic chess pieces in place.
Solid Wood & Epoxy – A handcrafted combination of natural hardwood character and modern epoxy details.
Three Available Sizes – Choose from compact, classic or statement-size designs to suit your space.
Optional Glow-in-the-Dark Details – Available with a fluorescent strip that adds a distinctive visual effect in the dark.
Optional Magnetic Chess Pieces – The magnetic chess set shown in the photographs is available separately, with custom colouring options.
Handcrafted to Order – Every Sovereign is individually made in our own workshop.
The Sovereign is more than a chessboard: it combines gameplay, craftsmanship and distinctive wall art in one exceptional piece.
Play from a different perspective.
